What are the names of some good companies to book a holiday with? (thomson, seguro etc.)?

More and more, I go for AITO companies (members of the Association for Independent Tour Operators) -- they're all small firms that treat their customers wonderfully and are true specialists in their holiday fields.

And they're all financially bonded, so you're covered in case any AITO company goes bust (reassuring, given the financial jitteriness just now).

Whatever you want -- sailing, scuba, city breaks, skiing, rainforest treks or just somewhere to bake in the sun -- they've got someone who can put it all together for you.

I've always found Manos good for Turkey and Greece.

Generally I go it alone though.

NOT Thompson, they overcharge too much.

In fact, you are better booking online, i book all my hol's online now and it's so easy.Go to, www.expedia.co.uk and choose your holiday. They have always served me well and you make big savings too.

If u know the area u r going to, book the hotel directly, sometimes this saves too, but sometimes the flight/hotel package from expedia is cheaper.
