    The side opposite the right angle is always the hypotenuse,

    The side between the right angle and the known angle is the adjacent

    The side between the unknown angle and the right angle is the opposite (as it is opposite the unknown)

    The Catheti (plural) are the two sides that include the right angle.  The Hypotenuse is the side opposite the right angle.
