  1. I don't know much about unis in Melbourne but I googled and found the following. I come from Queensland (went to University of Queensland) and the ones on the list below that I have heard of are Monash and the University of Melbourne. I guess that means they might be the bigger (better??) ones.

I have visited Melbourne once and it is a great place and I think going to Uni there would be great fun with HEAPS to do in those many spare hours uni students have (which I guess they should be studying in but want to do something more fun). Also there is so much to do in the surrounding areas from water sports to snow sports to sports in general. Also lots of cultural highlights in Melbourne.

    Hope this helps.

I personally have studied at  RMIT (tafe sector) - City , La Trobe University in Bundoora, Monash University in Clayton and Victoria University in St Albans.

I can tell you that the staff at Vic Uni are very friendly, approachable and extremely helpful. The campus is real modern and it has a warm atmosphere to it. The same could also be said of La Trobe Uni; although it is older then Vic Uni.

Monash on the other hand is very 'old school' and I personally hated the whole year I was there

  3. Melbourne is a great place with good nightlife and plenty of things to do. The weather isn't very good compared to some other places in Australia, but then again, I live in Brisbane so I'm biased.
