  1. Bratislava is near the borders with Austria and Hungary, not far from the border with the Czech republic, not near the border with Poland.

If you have a look at a map, google has good ones, you can easily see this, as well as which towns in Poland are near the border with Slovakia.

To travel from Bratislava to the nearest point on the Polish border is about 250 km.

The region in Poland just north of the Slovak border is a touristic area, if more villages than towns.

It has been the holiday area for people from Poland for a long time and is now also being discovered by tourists from farther away.

Select any town on the map you use, enter the place in a search engine and see what comes up, you will find many of the towns/villages cater for holiday makers.

The slightly bigger towns in Poland all seem about 300 km from Bratislava.

If you want to explore, why not stop a few times in Slovakia?

The Slovak side of the border is also a popular destination, and rightly so.

  2. Krakow is your biggest one.  Wieliczka is nearby.   There are several nice smaller towns within 100km of Krakow, many of them on the way to slovakia.

From Bratislava to Krakow is 374km and it will take you abot 4.5 hours.

  3. You might be thinking of Zakopane, Poland.  It is quite close to the Slovakia border.
