What are the needs of a work team (please recommend some links)?

I was generally thinking about a team of humans. But your answer is informative for me and for people that use this section. I appreciate it

  1. I am assuming that you are refering to an Archaeological excavation team, as this is the the Anthropology section.  In all reality there is a great variety of what you need depending on what kind of job you are doing.  A phase I team needs shovels, screens, probably a soil probe, notebooks to keep track of paperwork, machetes if you are in heavy brush, trowels to scrape down walls and such, tape measures, reel tapes to help lay out a grid... these are just starters for personal gear... then you have the needs of the team itself such as per diem, room and board, cars, gas, shelter if you are going to be in cold or rainy weather, all kinds of stuff.  Forestry suppliers is a good place to start for some of this stuff...  One thing that is for certain, it isn't cheap to do a proper archaeological excavation.
