  1. well, if you are fat then eating fast will definitely affect your health. When you eat fast your body doesn't have time to properly digest your food and it ends up going right to those flabby areas. If you eat slowly and chew, you can absorb nutrients more efficiently.

Now if you are a skinny football player (like me) it wont make much difference because clearly i already have a fast metabolism...

but if ur over the age of 25 u should eat slow.

  2. Over time...yes.

Eating quickly means we swallow more air with our food because we tend to 'gulp' our food down.  This causes digestive problems and...well...gas!  Eating slowly and chewing carefully raises our metabolism which means we put less weight on and are generally healthier.

  3. eating too fast could mean eating too much which could mean that you will gain weight; slow down, think about your food and enjoy it

  4. Probably makes no difference.  Your stomach and gut are products of millions of years of evolution - pretty hard to do anything to hurt them all that much.  The only bad thing about eating too fast is that it's harder to tell when you're full - and you could blow up into some huge fat person.  Stay skinny - stay happy - eat really really slow.

  5. Eating fast has a negative effect depending on what you think. Eating Slow makes the appetite time to tell the brain your full. Scientists you say it takes twenty minutes for the stomach to tell the brain that your stomach is full. And by giving it some time your most likely going to eat less and feel fuller earlier. However, eating fast will let your stomach send the message of satisfaction to the brain whene your way past full

  6. yes when you eat to fast your probably not chewing your food correctly and your digestive system is working overtime to break it down. plus you can choke easier.

When you eat slower you chew your food better and you probably dont eat as much since it takes you longer to chew your food.

  7. I eat really fast and I am fine!  :) lol

    Seriously, though...

THEY say that if you eat too fast it takes longer for your brain to register that you are full and it will make you over-eat, thereby making you gain weight. But if you are not overweight, who cares?

Taking your time and chewing is more polite in public and I do practice that in public atmospheres. It is also connected with better digestion.

  8. If you eat fast the bad thing about it is that you will eat alot more than your body will need.  The reason for this is because you are eating so fast that before your body can tell you it is full you are still stuffing it in.

The advantage to eating slow is that you will know when you are full and control your calories and intake alot better than eating fast.

If you want to do something that will help your body if you are a fast eater is drink a cup of ice cold water before you eat.  It will help,  but it will not make it right.

  9. if you are really poor like me and eat at soup kitchens, the opposite is true! eat really fast, and you may be lucky enough for seconds. take your time and it's all gone. first come first served you know.

  10. If you eat too fast you can choke on your food and die.

As far as physiological affect it's a good question.

  11. Q: What are the effects/ let downs of eating within 10 minutes?

A: Well, setbacks are the food is'nt processing completly through you're digestive system you should be eating slowly and savoring you're food. You can get back-logged and you're food won't get digested and broken down propperly.

Q: What are the 'postive' effects of eating more than 20 minutes +?

A: Benifits would be you're body is taking the time to digest you're food into smaller parts. Savor you're food eat it slow. It will make you for-filled faster so you most-likley will have left overs. You should eat for atleast 30 minutes, and take little breaks in-between eating, and relax, chew properly, and savor. Maybe watch some T.V.

    Hope this helps!

  12. accidents happen when you rush.  there is more  potential of choking on food that was not properly masticated (chewed).

Positives well there is savoring the flavors and the joy of enjoying the meal.

  13. It's not safe. You are gulping air with your food. You're not chewing properly. You can break the sphincter muscles at the bottom of your esophagus, which will give you permanent reflux. Not only is reflux extremely painful, it makes you cough and have to clear your throat all the time and can develop into cancer.
