I am writing a story that takes place in the desert, and it starts to rain. What happens when it rains in a desert like terrain?

does it get more humid?

does dirt stir?

does it contribute to even more dryness or heat?

thanks~~

  1. Since deserts receive little rain, the terrain is typically more compacted, "slick," and harder for the rain to penetrate, thus flash flooding is a major concern. Water isn't easily absorbed into the ground and "flash" floods into bodies of water.
