  1. actually as of our era the new rules is just like when the ball touches the net it's still accpetable unlike before that it was considered violation to the rules

  2. It depends on how new you would call it "new".

USAV 2005- rule spelled it out like if your hair touched the net it is not a fault. If after your block attempt, your teammate in back row hit the pass before you turned around ready for setting, but accidentally touched the net when turning, no call should be made.

If your opponent hit it very hard and your teammate's first pass was going wild, so that you had to run to the far end of your gym and hit the ball back, you would not be called double-hit even though your arms touched the ball more than once.

  3. Tons (apparently others haven't heard of them).

At least in high school in Michigan,

    Libero can now serve.

Backrow players can't contact the ball over the plane of the net if they're in front of the ten foot line (doesnt count if they jumped from behind the line). So the backrow setter can't tip in front of the ten foot line if the ball's higher up than the top of the net.

And a couple of technicalities of assisted blocks.

  4. you cant touch the ball or you lose

  5. FIVB (international) and USAV (club) have minimal rule changes.  They are mostly changes in procedures.  The Olympics are next year.  They rarely make significant changes before the Olympics.  Most significant changes are after the Olympics.  (I read that they are experimenting with eliminating the net violation.)

NCAA (women's college) is the same way.

NFSHSA (junior high and high school) allows the Libero to serve this year in one rotation.

  6. The last new rule I remember was made in 2000 which was that you can no longer block serves.

  7. there are no new rules.
