I am currently a "junmore" in college and I am looking to teach high school and eventually college...

At first I was going to be an English teacher and have decided to switch to sociology. I was wondering if anyone might know what the next steps are in order to achieve a PhD. in Educational Sociology.

I have talked to many advisors and I have concluded they cannot and should not try to advise anyone because they have no idea.. so I am asking for your help.. :o)

Do I get an Education degree then do a "sub-major" in Sociology?

Do I get a Sociology degree then just get a teaching certification?

Also, I have noticed that it far easier to become a "early childhood" teacher than a secondary teacher. Apparently everyone wants to be an early childhood teacher so when you say an education major people automatically assume that you want to teach little kids..

WHERE IS THE HELP FOR THE SECONDARY TEACHERS?!

Any websites, contacts, or anything that you can supply would be awesome!

thx
