What are the nice / less nice areas of St. Albans, Herts.?

Question

We're moving there in a couple of months and are trying to find a nice part of town to live in. Needs to be baby-friendly and able to get into town without driving. Thanks!

You can't go too wrong in St. Albans even in the worst areas but beware it is one ofthe most expensive places to live outside of London!  It is very baby friendly lots of support groups although due to traffic restrictions that have been put in place over the years many normal high street stores are moving away to other big shopping areas like Hemel and Watford so you will need a car because the public transport isn't great!  so the general shopping is quite bad the market is great though....
