My friend is about to have a party in upcoming weeks, and she lives in a residental area, she lives in a detached house and I was wondering what are the hours up until that you can play music? It's happening on a Saturday night?

  1. Muncipal by laws restrict the noise coming from a residence or property to 30 feet beyond its boundrys, and like other citys Toronto has a 11 pm to 6 am by-law with regards to loud partys and noise.

So if you do not want a visit by the Police at 11:30 if the music and revealers are still outside and having to good a time, the fine is $250 for a disturbing the peace, and can get you evict form a townhouse complex, even a private residence is not exempt. I had a friend or friends that like to have the occasional outdoor fiesta and had this happen to them 3 times, if your friend wants to have a party then go right ahead but be mindful of the time and keep the noise down after 11, you can still stay out side and talk and drink, just turn the music down, sometimes the neighbours are not as accomadating and will make the call if your a bit over the top, have fun but with caution.
