What are the non religious Circumcision rates like in Australia?

is it more like America where it is very popular, or more like europe where it is not as common?... or somewhere in between?

  2. In Australia its very uncommon nowadays.

    Circumcision is banned in public hospitals in almost every Australian state, unless there is a valid medical necessity for it.

  3. Doctors opinions on the subject seem to change from generation to generation at the moment the medical proffession say it is not necessary unless the f******n is very long and apt to infection.

  5. It is now very rare.  It is advised against by the College of Paediatricians.  It is mostly Jews and Muslims still getting it done.

  6. This leaflet from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians states that fewer than 10% of baby boys are circumcised in Australia. The rates in some states are even lower - more like 5%. These figures include religious circumcisions so the rate for non-religious procedures would be even lower.

  8. When my son was born I felt pressure from my inlaws to have him circumcised but I could not get a doctor to do it - speaking with parents of my sons peers all the little boys are uncircumsised.
