I am trying to go vegan, but until today I did not know gummy bears and marshmallows had animal products in them. What are the ingredients exactly?

  1. As somebody else already said, the ingredient is gelatin. You will need to get in the habit of reading ingredients lists if you go vegan. Gelatin is in a lot of other things too, like certain chewy candy and Jello.

  2. Gelatin (boiled hooves, skin, bones, tendons of cows, pigs and occasionally horses. Mainly cows and pigs though).

I haven't found vegan marshmallows yet, but i'm sure someone has. There are a lot of vegan lollies though.

  3. Gelatin.  Horse hooves and tendons.  There are vegetarian versions.

  4. Gelatin is found in both. It is derived from animal fat, tendons and hooves.
