I'm doing a school project which require our understanding of the middle-class, white-collar and young urban professional people.

Please list me some occupations for each of the category and if possible list down their salary range as well. Thanks.

  1. Defining the middle-class is very difficult.  About 80% of Americans claim to be a part of the middle class!   The average American makes about $40,000, but people who make as little as $25,000 or as much as $200,000 might claim to be a part of the middle class.  Jobs such as clerical workers, service-industry workers, teachers, nurses, and even some doctors and lawyers.

White-collar workers are professionals who usually have a college degree or higher education.  Business professionals, lawyers, accountants, etc.  They will have salaries in the top 20% of Americans.  Perhaps an average of $80,000 and into the millions!

Young urban professionals are white-collar workers who are just starting out!  They make good money, but not the insanely high salaries that their bosses do.  They will be the bosses one day if they do well.

  2. In my world if you have a degree or any

skill for which you're trained, then you can

work in Corporate offices, or construction

as an Architect or planner it's more a person

al choice driven by ambition, and those jobs

pay anywhere from $50,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year, and for me it's strictly

ambition to take you down that path, not

a social or professional restriction.  So do

all you can in your school preparation for

any one of those positions.  Education is

the opportunity.  How about a Business

    owner?

  3. well, these days it seems all of the yuppies live beyond their means~!!!

    they want instant satisfaction~!!!
