Question:

What are the odd of being placed together on Airtran if I don'd buy seats ahead of time?

Hi, I booked a flight on Airtran back in February for July to FL. I didn't however pay the extra $ to choose my seat assignments. There are 5 of us travelling -two adults and three children (9,4, and 2). Am I safe assuming that they will not separate the children from us when assigning seats? It wouldbe crazy if they did, as everyone else on board would pretty much have a miserable flight sitting next to my unsupervised children. Please let me know you experiences or any helpful hints. Thanks!

  1. It isn't that much extra, it is only like $15 or $30.

  2. Well often times when kids are involved people might be willing to switch around their seats in order to let the family sit togother. So when you take that in to account i would say the odds are at least 50/50.
