  1. NOT TO WORRY!!  the hurricane season doesnt start until the around august...september-ish

EVEN IF YOU WERE to encounter bad weather (which is not likely)  the RIVIERA MAYA IS BUFFERED with the 2ND LARGEST CORAL REEF IN THE WORLD.  most storms do not pass the reef!!!  the island of cancun feels the most damage because it is not protected by the reef.

here is an interesting site to look at:

    http://www.hurricanecity.com/cities.htm

    it gives stats.

In June, July, and August visitors can expect hot sunny summer weather with occasional rainfall. Usually when it rains it rains hard for a little while then dries up quickly. This is also when the sea is the calmest.

The hurricane season runs September through December and the sky can change from clear to overcast in minutes. The ocean water is warmest in August-September and starts to cool down in November.

From July through September the temperature is highest, as is rainfall. This is also the mosquito season.

November, December and January are the coolest months here, which means it's very comfortable. There might be some rain, but not daily. This time of year, nights can be much cooler and a jacket required.

Spring [February to May] is a beautiful time of year on the Riviera, with very little rain and flowers everywhere. The ocean gets calmer and warmer, as temperatures rise. Nights can still be a little cool but the temperature is milder and more comfortable.

All year round the humidity level is very high, often around 90 per cent. Regardless of what time of year you get here, you will have great beach days and not so great beach days but the ocean is always warm enough to swim and snorkel in.

  2. well its not tht bad...guess ur gonna stay in an all inclusive resort, in tht case u have nothing 2 fear....in the resort where i stayed while a hurricane they gave us a lot of info abt how it was approaching and the day it wass gonna reach land they juss ask us 2 stay in the room since a certain hour (if it gets worst they moove u to the refugees).

they have refugees and alternative refugees (certified by the mexian asociation of engenieers or something like tht as well as by the civil protection department) as well as a lot of food, water and medical services.

there r some services tht dont work as usual in the hotel 4 example some restaurants were closed and there was juss buffet 4 dinner instead of the dinners in the specialties restaurants, the beach was closed and some pools, the buildings tht r the closer 2 the beach were evacuated.

abt the tour services, they were suspended sience the day before the hurricane reaches land and they worked again a couple of days after (they have 2 clean the highways, beaches, etc)

yes, there r some inconviniences if u have the luck of being there at the same time tht the hurricane but its not tht bad and ur gonna b safe....4 wht i saw it was even an exciting experience 4 many of the tourists tht have never been in such a situation :P

there were some guests tht were scared and tried 2 leave the place but tht usually results in many hours at the airport (completely crowded of scared tourists) trying 2 get the first plane 2 wherever they can go and the flights r full, besides u spend extra money in the flight and in another hotel, etc.

So 4 wht i lived the worst tht can happen isnt terrible so u juss go there and enjoy ur honeymoon cause the place is simply wonderful...it worth it :D

  3. The hurricanes in the Caribbean area normally occur in August/September, so the chances of a hurricane affecting you in July is very low.

There is still a chance, but it's highly unlikely.

They have a saying they use in the Caribbean area for hurricanes:

    June - Coming Soon

    July - Stand By

    August - All Gusts

    September - Remember

    October - All Over.
