What are the odds of me getting caught using limewire?

Question

Im thinking of downloading limewire (I wouldn't download music from smaller bands, just big bands that already have plenty of money). do you suggest it? what are the odds of getting caught? and can you download books on tape from it?

Frankly, it doesn't matter if you get caught... Your computer will crash and burn long before you have enough songs to make a dent on the music business. Limewire is plagued with viruses and short songs (2 or 3 mins of dead air downloads)... Better to rip a friends CD then to risk damaging your computer, and still get a visit from their lawyers.

1 Dont use limewire, its one of the worst down loaders for your computer, if anything use Bearshare and you how many people download songs off search engines? I use a torrent downloader which lets me download full cds and ive been doing it for years and i havent got caugh. Your odds are very small

I have heard somewhere that it is more likely you will be struck by lighting, but I can't remember where. That is probably not true, but you can decrease your odds by using programs like PeerGaurdian(see sources). Alternatively, you can support DRM free alternatives and download legally. No chance in that :)
