The Jets recently aquired star Quarterback Brett Favre from the Packers which will make for a interesting plot this season.

I am saying a 50/50 chance.

  1. the jets go 9-7 and may get the wildcard

i really hope the packers have a great year so rogers gets a big deal with another team were the fans will apreciate him

  2. um, The Jets may go 10-6 because of the week schedule.  If Aaron is merely adequate that be hard to get lower than for a team that was 13-3 last year.

  3. I would think the odds are less than 50/50.

I would say more like 20/80.

If you take the QB position out of the picture, the Packers have a much better team than the Jets.  So you can up the ante because you think Favre is better than Rodgers, but it takes an entire team to win games.

The Jets have upgraded a lot, but until they produce, I don't have faith.  The Packers already have credible talent in place.  I just don't see Aaron totally s******g it up.

Favre is going into a new complicated system, new players, coach, new address, new everything.  Odds are stacked against him being the savor.   Not to say it won't happen, just saying odds are that it won't.

Do you think the Network is having wet dreams over the possibility of a Jets/Packers superbowl?  I think they are.  But the thing about wet dreams is that they are not real life.

Anyway, the Packers go 10-6 with Rodgers, make the playoffs and lose early.

The Jets go 7-9, miss the playoffs and Brett retires for real with no press conference...

Just my thoughts about what will happen, not my desire.

If Brett takes the Jets to the Superbowl, he will solidify his spot as the best player of all time.  Just don't think it will happen.

  4. The Jets acquired Alan Faneca (Pro Bowler but obviously in his later years) to go along with Ferguson and Nick Mangold. Sounds like a good left side. The only issue are the skills players. The Jets need a top flight reciever and an upgrade in the RB department. Favre will love having Bubba Franks but Franks will eventually give way to Dustin Kelly. Defensively, the secondary was solid, not outstanding but 15 picks and werent getting torched. The d-line, not so much. They need much better production from Shaun Ellis and hopefully Calvin Pace & Vernon Gholston show their 1st round pick form.

The Packers lost Corey Williams which they'll miss in run defense. But outside of him, the defense is still intact. Charles Woodson and Al Harris are up there in age, maybe that'll be a factor. Aaron Kampman and AJ Hawk will have good years. Offensively, everything hinges on Rodgers. I think it's wrong to say he'll get 11 wins but it's also far-fetched that they will miss the playoffs this year. I see them getting the wildcard, maybe at 10-6, possibly 9-7. This year, there are more good teams in the NFC but I don't think Minnesota has it figured out, Chicago will be awful and Detroit is just...well Detroit.

I predict the Jets go 8-8, the Pack go 9-7.

  5. im going to agre with you and say the chances are indeed 50/50, and heres why:

yes, if you take the QB away from both teams (favre/rodgers) the packers do have the better team. but who is in control of that team? thats right, the QB.

so, we have a proven veteran in favre....and an unproven backup in rodgers. aaron rodgers has the better team, but what good is a great team with a S****y QB? im not saying rodgers sucks, but really...what has he done over the years? he is unproven, and the jets could very well end the season with a better record than the pack.

  6. I am saying no chance... the jets have a horrible team. GO GMEN!

  7. I just can't see Rodgers finishing the season he is weak and fragile.

  8. Yeah keep dreaming...the packers will have a better record guaranteed...cas' they have a better defense and role players than the lowly jets...golston's a rookie, the rest of the defense has nobody, and they only got faneca...damian woody sucks just like the rest of that o-line...plus the packers play in a crappy divison and conference

  9. You are talking about a team that only won four games last year. If Favre can somehow add a spark in a couple late comebacks - or have a couple incredible games where the Jets pull off front-page upsets - an improvement to eight wins would be a great step forward it what would probably be his last season in the league. The Packers are a solid 10-11 win club, so this idea of one player suddenly making a lousy club a solid playoff contender is fantasy.

  10. favre is 38 years old with a new team  ( players- coaching staff)

    lets not kid ourself

the just will win 2 or 3 more games and wont make the playoff.

as of today, the bills are better than the jet and might even have a shot at the playoff.
