Question:

What are the odds we'll get to see the start of the NASCAR race on 5/10/08 with a baseball game on before it.

Last time Fox showed a baseball game before the race we missed the pre-race and the dropping of the green flag. There was a lot of uproar about that. Do you think they will show the start of the race or hang with the baseball game?

  1. My guess is very low because where i live at they are showing the yankees game and they seem to take their sweet time in games because they dont know how to pitch so i would say very low.

  2. Well, they have 45min., and it's the bottom of the 6th.  Not looking good.

    Go Jr.>>>>

  3. As much as I love Nascar, I'd rather watch baseball than the prerace show.  But with all the channel affiliations, they should be able to get the prerace show on some channel somewhere!

  4. I know that sometimes the networks "switch" the beginning, or ending of an event, to one of their "affiliates"

  5. This is Darlington, hopefully fox will get it right this time...But thank god for MRN radio, and Trackpass..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  6. well the games in chicago and there is rain on the radar heading towards chicago  so there a good chance we could see a rain delay and another s***w u by  fox

  7. All I know is I will be pissed if they do that again. I was so mad last time! I really don't like baseball, I find it extremely boring. I would much rather watch the prerace.

  8. It better be 100% after that last stunt they pulled, especially since it's Darlington.

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  9. Hopefully fox will show all of NASCAR, pre-race and all.  I don't want to miss any of it and it could be quite interesting to see what everyone has to say before the race, after last week.  Besides Fox really doesn't want to upset a bunch of NASCAR fans again do they?? LOL!

  10. 100% gurantee... they may try to move it to fx or one of the sister channels just so people can see all the stuff for mothers day but if the don't do that we will not see the pre race

  11. It depends on the contract.

If Fox signed a no pre-empting clause with MLB, then we are screwed.

  12. I would be willing to venture a bet and say that with it being Darlington and all the stories that are going to come out of there tonight that they will show the whole thing.  They did last week the networks contract is to show all the racing from green to checkered not the prerace stuff

  13. Good if you have Speed channel. not so good if you don't.

  14. I really hope I get to see all of both. Because I really want to watch the whole baseball game and the whole race.

  15. Don't worry it's not raining in Detroit today. Aww come on drivingfast31, I posted a non Jr-Shrub question last night. East Coast game's done now.

  16. 100% because the game starts at 3.40 and it will most likely start on time

  17. Wow, maybe I should take a nap more often! I get back on here after a little nap and find a question that isn't about Kyle Busch or Dale Jr.

That ball game was rained out and that is what caused it to run into our precious racing time. So just hope there's no rain at the Diamondbacks and Cubs game and we should see our NASCAR in it's entirety.

  18. I'd say the race is likely to start on time.

Edit - The ball game is over...or at least the one scheduled for the central of the country is over.  The Chicago Scabs.....I mean cubs...beat the D'Backs 7-2.

    #48 - 3 Str8 (Crashes) in 08!!!!

  19. Not good. NASCAR is second tier on money paid to the networks. Even if one team is ahead 15-2 they won't switch. They'll switch to another baseball game !

    Remember, it's all about $$$ !

  20. Wasn't that actually the race that was broadcast on ESPN2?

  21. I give us a 50% chance of seeing the pre-race show. I would hope all the e-mails we sent last time would make a difference but that is probably wishful thinking.
