  3. There are two cases to consider:

    (1) games where the dealer hits soft 17

    (2) where the dealer must stand on soft 17

    6 Deck - case (1):  8 2 v 6 is a 57.1% winning chance

    6 Deck - case (2):  8 2 v 6 is a 58.2% winning chance

For fewer decks there are a slightly higher gains in each case

  4. Double that every time...It's an optimal situation to be in.

Remember, when playing blackjack, the object is not to get 21, but rather to beat the dealer.

Double down, get one more card.  No matter what the dealer has to go with that 6, the dealer will have to take another card.  That's what you're betting on..betting on the fact the dealer will bust the hand.

It's all basic strategy.  Just remember, you may not win the hand all the time, but it's 100% the right play to make.  Proper splitting and doubling down is the one thing that will eliminate the house advantage, or cut it down to almost nothing.

Another good rule, any time you have 11, double down..and always always always play consistent when you play.  Don't alter your game because of how much you bet, etc.  If you double that hand down with a $10 bet, double it with a $100 bet, or a $1000 bet.  The amount of your bet should never dictate your game playing decisions, it all becomes automatic once you learn some good basic strategy.
