Question:

What are the old 70s skateboards made of clear plastic, or yellow fiberglass called?

they have narrow trucks and wide wheels. theyre known as banana boards, but is there a brand name? for some reason im thinking veriflex or something similar. this is one for the oldschoolers.

  1. when you say its yellow it reminds me of one board in particular, it was called THE STINGER


  2. I don't remember the name, but it was red with clear red wheels,I called it the bullet for its shape.They were just called skateboards or street surfers.I still love it 20 years later.

  3. i know powell made boards like that but i don't know if that was late 70's or early 80's. but i seen alot of them boards on Ebay!

  4. I had one of them, the yellow fibreglass one was called a Bahne Superflex, awsome sk8y back in the day!

    That was the first board I owned that had eurethane wheels, you could get some really wide ones for the back truck, and skinny ones at front.

    My old schooler was a Surfer Sam - wooden deck, rubber wheels, skinny trucks that hardly turned, death wobbled at speed....
