  2. the bronze is made of bronze, the silver is made of silver...but the gold is just metal....it is way to exspensive to make like over 500 metals out of gold

  6. Each Olympic medal must be at least 70mm across and 6mm thick. The gold and silver medals must contain at least 92.5% silver, and at least 6 grams of 24-carat gold must coat each gold medal. Bronze medals contain copper, zinc, tin and a very small amount of silver.

    The Cannington mine site in North west Queensland provided the silver used for the production of the gold and silver medals. BHP Billiton mine sites in Chile provided the gold to coat the gold medals and the copper for producing the bronze medals.

    302 gold medals will be made for the Beijing Olympics.

  9. naw actually this year they is made of obviously gold, silver, and bronze but each one has a different colored jade part around the middle. and idk i doubt its made in the same factory each games

  10. The medals are all made out of mostly silver and they are all plated in the colour of them.  They are not made in the same factory every games.

    Not all the  same. Each host country has them made their way. This time, china make them based on the ancient china's currency (coin), and there is a ring of jade in between inner and outter ring (look carefully).  

  13. Actually theyr wer made of pure gold, silver, and bronze untilt the 80s, I think.  Since then, they were coated withe gold, silver, or bronze, but the inside was made of something cheaper.

    so yes, the outside is the actual metal, but the inside...nope.
