I have Sprint as my carrier, and just wondered if that would work, and how expensive it would be...

  1. my friend (family in greece, school in England) uses 2 different sim cards. 1 for each country. you don't need to buy a new phone, just a pay-as-you-go sim card with your number (they should do this for you, make it the same number as your old sim card)

  2. Check with Sprint whether you can use it in the UK.

Otherwise phones in the UK are cheap to buy - you could get one and then use it as a pay-and-go to make locals calls.

Here are a couple of cell phone shops but there are loads of others:

For calling the US, you could then buy a long distance phone card which would make overseas calls really cheap.

  3. depends you need tri-band to get contact with the USA + calling from other countries costs loads

  4. No, you need at least a tri-band GSM phone to work in the US and Europe.  Sprint only works in the US...
