  1. when Jerry Seigel and Joel Schuster (spell check on both names) Created him in 1938, they put the Red S in a Triangle w/ Blk backing as his logo, Name = Superman & S is initial of both creaters.

as time went on the Triangle evolved into the Red Pentagon w/ yellow background we now know.

through story lines the \S/ has been retconned into being a Kryptonian/Kryptonese pictogram for everything from the Family Crest of the House of El, to Hope., and when he arrived on Earth bearing an icon similar to the English Letter 'S' Lois takes that Initial and Dubs him Superman.

It has even appeared in modified form in 'Flash Back Comics' about the Kent Family in the old west, as a Native American symbol, featuring a Snake in the 's' form.  It is this Arc which I imagine inspired the Smallville people to Tie Clark to a Native Savior Prophecy on the series.

also the Series has taken a \8/ in the pentagon and used it as the Kryptonian word for 'Father' as well and had CK Branded w/ it at the end of Season 2-start of season 3

  2. S stands for Superman. Simple. I wonder from where Hiram is coming from ?

  3. Don't know what the origins are- does it have to have origins?  Can't it just be some guy's great imagination?

At any rate, it is certainly not Masonic in origin or inspiration.

  4. CANT, ITS A SECRET!!! sorry couldn't help myself lol
