What are the other factors of overpopulation except bitrth control?

I am doing a paper on the cause and effect of overpopulation and I was wondering what the other factors of overpopulation were except the lack of resources, birth control and immigration.

Causes: lack of birth control, especially within certain mainstream religions.  Longer life span (not letting people just die when it's their time... we have to keep shoving artificial organs into 90 year olds instead of just letting them move on).

Effects:  Decrease in environmental stability. Loss of other species. Harder and harder lives in "poor" countries. Manipulation of the environment to produce more.

Overpopulation brings more war, disease, lack of concern for the individual, sometimes profound impact on species of plants, animals, birds, & fish.

It can bring complete loss of some eco systems.

Besides common disease (like flu) being easely spread in overcrowded conditions, you can have entirely new disease popping up.

Overpopulation usually brings about strict cast systems within the population.  Those are usually impossible to move up higher in rank.  If your father was a fisherman, you too will be a fisherman, or a potter, or a nobleman, ect.

In overpopulated areas there is usually strict control of the people by either religion, or government.

Loss of personal freedom....you cannot just do as you wish, when it might affect so many.  With so many you might possibly offend, the list of things you can do shrinks dramaticly, and the list of things you cannot do grows tremendously.

Are you talking about America?

From what i know, America is not overpopulated.

And i think the overpopulation issue in our contemporary world is due to the fact that people are living much longer.

Medication has improved a lot.

Long time ago, people used to die because of a small injury.

Birth rate is much higher than death rate.

World is much more connected.

Whenever there is a disaster, people don't just die.

People from across the planet come and help each other.

Diseases, natural disasters. We are able to deal with diseases and natural disasters instead of blaming it on God.

better healthcare, poeple aren't dying off as fasy.  Stronger economy, becomes land of opportunity (sort of like immigration).

Immunizations and antibiotics are not allowing naturally occuring diseases that would kill off some of the population.

In my opinion, the number 1 cause of over-population in the world is ignorance.  And, the number 1 cause of over-population in the United States is the welfare system that pays non-working, single mothers to continously procreate, so the government provides them with free housing, food, and health-care.
