  1. I would phone your maternity department or your midwife or OB.

    Sounds like labour. Good luck.

  2. It could be labor starting, or just the pressure of babies head since babies drop when your getting close to delivery.  I never believed I would know when I was going into labor with my first either, but I could tell.  There should be other signs like losing mucus plug too.  Although that could happen after your at hospital already.  I would call the doc and let them know what's going on they may want you to come in for a check or they may not, but that way that at least have a heads up if you do go into labor.  Good Luck!

  3. Hi it could just be that your baby has enaged lower into your pelvis. I know when I was getting checked at the midwife she was saying that my baby wasnt engaged but could of been there when I stud up or walked which is why I was getting the pains.

If it feels like stabbing pains kind of like your baby has a knife in there stabbing you then its just the way he is lying.

As he does sound quite big and if its your first its all new to us.

But if there get worse then you can always ring your midwife as thats what they are there for.

  4. For me labour started like period pain. If you have had a sudden burst of energy today and managed to get a few last minute things doen that's always a good sign. Other indicators of labour are having diarrhea or loose stools as this is the body's way of making space for the baby to come out.

    How exciting - good luck!

    :)
