Please help me with my homework... What do you call the band in the middle of the brain that seperates the right and left hemisphere?

  1. The medulla oblongata is the lower portion of the brainstem. It deals with autonomic functions, such as breathing and blood pressure. The cardiac center is the part of the medulla oblongata responsible for controlling the heart rate.


  2. I think the only one left out is the meninges- the membranes covering the brain and spinal cord.

  3. I am not sure if I understand what you mean by "band" but the medial longitudinal fissure separates the left and right hemispheres.

  4. I know the mid-brain, the medulla oblongata. The divisor between the hemispheres is called the median plane.

    If you mean the connector between the hemispheres, that is the Corpus Callosum.
