  1. sheet sets are the sheets do your bed.

pillow cases are the covers to you pillows that you usually sleep on.

comforter is the top sheet that usually has a design/pattern.

    hope this helped.

    its really confusing at first.

  2. Sheet sets = fitted sheet that fits snugly over your matress & top sheet that goes over your bed as a normal sheet.

Pillow cases = fit over your pillows

Comforter/Comforter cover = the heavy cover (duvet) that goes on the very top of your bed.  The cover is what you would put over the plain comforter if you bought it unfinished from a store.

Shams = the decorative pillow cases (usually the ones with the frilled edging) that go over your decorative pillows.  In other words you have 2 pillows (for a double bed) that you use for sleeping on and an additional 2 pillows that you would put the "shams" on for decorative purposes when your bed is made.

Hope this is helpful - it's a lot of stuff to remember just to go to sleep, lol!!

  3. Well of course the sheet set comes w/ 2 1 w/ elastic to fit your bed and a sheet to go over top. The pillow cases to put your pillows in. Comforter is the blanket of course. Shams is another form of pillow cases. Its basically decoration for your pillow, to match the bedset!! Good luck, i hope this helps!!
