What are the people of spain like?

I was interested in visiting Spain and I was wondering if anybody can help me get an idea what the Spaniard culture and people are like.

well depends. In Andalucia, people likes what almost everybody know about spains, the bullfishthing,.... all that.

If u come to Catalonia, where is Barcelona... People like more the catalonia things, we speak another leanguage, català. And we don't like the bullfighting. The traditional dance is La Sardana, our food is also diferent....

Spanish people are family orientated, elders are respected, and cared for within the family.  Children are brought up to eat a varied diet ( very little junk food) schools provide weekly menus for parental approval.   The culture is Valencian or Catalan, many fiestas, fire works, dressing up, and town and village bands competing,  Friendly, caring ,used to us brits, and love you to speak  especially in Spanish (its the trying that counts!)In the main, they are like every other nationality, kind  & helpful.  Naturally their is always an exception to the rule.  Good Luck, and you will enjoy!

depends on where in Spain you're visiting ... I went for the first time last year and on the Costa's you meet mostly other expatriates from UK, Germany, Sweden, whatever ... the only Spanish I met were like people in shops or restaurant owners ... where I was there were expatriate areas and Spanish areas and the two seemed to co-exist side by side but operating on completely different systems and different time-scales ... it was a strange experience because I'd gone to Spain to see Spain but felt I saw Essex-in-the-sun

we live in the trees and eat foreign people for dinner, especially british or german.
