  1. If you learn it reasonably well you will see how much of what you are speaking now is coming from.

So you will never have to say that is all Greek to me.

But surely it will make you feel much better if you can manage to read at least one book in its originally written language.

That will only happen, when you will be dreaming in Greek.

I know this is true, because then, I was talking English. When I was dreaming in English.

  2. The first thing you have to know about a new language is learn how to write it properly, its "learning Greek" and "my dad is full Greek" NOT "learning greece" and "my dad is full greece"

  3. You can speak to your relations - you will be able to write on your CV for a job 'Speaks Greek' Therefore opening other doors to better jobs. You will know what all the medical 'long' names mean as you will know the words for the body/ organs/blood etc. You will be a whizz at pub quizzes when they ask 'what phobia is ...... as you will know the words for spiders / books etc.

The main reason being - we should be learning new things daily giving the old brain a little 'workout' - learning a language should be fun!

  4. Its one more language you can put on your cv and you can work as a holiday rep in greece!

  5. The perk is that you can speak another language.  You can be an interpreter.  You can work overseas for a company.  You can for work for an airline in Greece.  It is a great language!
