  1. I am of German descent on my father's side.  I can tell that in our family, the Germans are hairy, thick hair, sometimes curly or wavy, lots of body hair. We have brown, dark brown, or black hair and medium, not pale, skin tone.   Eye color is sometimes brown but more likely light such as hazel or blue.  (Mine are brown from my mom's side)  Many Germans are reddish in coloring, and haircolor.

When I googled physical characteristics briefly prior to answering, I found that Germans are said to have been made up of 6 different European peoples, so, just about anything goes.  If you want to know more, visit the link I added below or google "German physical characteristics".

  2. There's no simple answer as even within Germany there is enough genetic variation that people have a wide variety of traits.

The stereotypical 'German' is usually portrayed as a typified 'aryan' (tall, blonde hair and blue eyes, sometimes with high cheekbones) but that is not a representation of the majority of the population. Most germans are not blond (more likely to have brown or black hair, though there is a higher percentage of blonds than many other European nations), and even shade of skin color and eye color varies considerably.

So in answer to your question the only physical characteristic of a German is .... they were born in Germany (or to German parents abroad).

  3. Erica, the Germany of today was invaded so many times that it is difficult to know. I have a African-American who is German, so I would say dark-skinned, curly hair, though his kids are light skinned with light brown hair.  Who knows?

  4. They're white, as opposed to black or asian.  They have round eyes, as opposed to the asian slanty eyes.  They have blue eyes and blonde hair.  They don't have the Jewish hook nose.  I think they look a lot like Scandanavians, but I'm not sure.

  5. They are robust, and suspiciously Cro-Magnon-like!

  6. First, Germans are  either German citizens or descendants of german citizens.   Any person who is a German citizen by birth or naturalization is by definition  a "german", so your question is really do you fit  the "stereotype", not the reality.

How would you describe what an American looks like? If you think all Americans are blond, blue-eyed and white skinned, you would have difficulty reconciling Martin Luther King or Oprah as being "American", but obvously they are.

The n***s promoted the belief that all "true" Germans were blond, blue-eyed and white skinned, leaving out the darker, shorter German Jews and other "types" who were also "German" as being not German at all, but something less.

I'm sure that's not your intent, but you follow the same stereotyping in thinking that any nationality has to "look" a specific way.

Yes,many Germans are blond and blue eyed, but so are Swedes, and Norwegians. There are many Germans that are not blond or blue eyed.

So if you are German, then just accept that you are German and don;t worry about how you're supposed to  look -- you don't have to look like anyone except yourself..

  7. Lederhosen!!!

  8. Germans are wonderful people.  Especially German girls.  I would have to say that germans are light in color and usually have brown to blonde hair, with blue eyes or even green eyes.  Sometimes they can have larger eyes than most people, but that is all due to genetics.  Germans also have freckles.  Germans sometimes have great strength, but then again that is also due to genetics.
