OxBow lake - An oxbow lake is a U-shaped lake water body formed when a wide meander from the river is cut off to create a lake.

Current - The current ina  river runs fastest around the outside bend so in a meander, the inside bends erodes more. The outside bend is therefore a lace of deposition where the current is slowest.
