  12. It is hard to pen down all the tourist places in North India that one must visit. North India is home to lots of monuments, wildlife sanctuaries, many famous temples. Only Rajasthan, & Delhi itself posses a no. of tour destinations. I am jst providing u the name of some most popular places:

  16. If you want to see how does a river gorge of a river you must see it in Gauhati.....Tea gardens.

    Cherapunji in Meghalaya and besides that nothing like Shillong...waterfalls...

    If you think Darjeeling a part of north east though it is in West Bengal...you must go to Tiger hills to see the sun rise...

  17. I feel North East is an undiscovered paradise of India....I think the places worth visiting in North East are Shillong, Cherapunji,Dargeeling, Sikkim, Tawang, Siliguri and Tejpur....to name a few..

    krushang - its above darjeeling and from siliguri - toy trains runs for darjeeling its the heritage train - n most amazing picture view u get while riding towards darjeeling --small train is cute --roads runs parallel to train track.

    moving towards assam - you have  : Guwahati  - shillong  Calcutta -- Cherapunji - world heaviest rainfall region very rich in vegetation

    : Kaziranga - Wildlife sancutuary - famous for rhino

  21. wah the entire noth east is virgin and not explored. i am cluless where to start and end as i never been there. north east is my next destination for a weeks trip ..but whats the best time and where all to go .. cluless. also any idea about the safety

    darjeeling, cherapunji, guwahati for kamkhya devi temple, shillong, sikkim,,,,north east is a very nice place to visit. but please make sure you have checked with reliable sources about each place. places like nagaland mizoram are major terrorist areas.
