  1. Probably one of the best views in all of Alberta is in your rear view mirror as you head east or west from the barren grounds of the "brown" treeless province.

  2. I suppose it all depends on your interests.

There are the Badlands which are generally quite interesting.  Drumheller's Royal Tyrell Museum is an excellent dinosaur museum to spend an afternoon in.  Dinosaur Provincial Park is a UNESCO site with a few walks.

Kananaskis is very nice for hikes and camping as well as Waterton Lakes National Park.

Also, if you're feeling particularly adventurous (or strange, for that matter), there are a lot of oversized statues all over Alberta (http://www.bigthings.ca/bigab.html).

  3. Head west from Red Deer through Rocky Mountain house, through Nordegg, about 10km west of Nordegg, take the south Forestry Trunk Road and take in the Ram river area. Watch for a westerly road about 20km from the highway and you can head for Onion Lake, beautiful waterfall about 8km in and just above the falls, there is a place where you can jump from rocks into a 10-15ft deep pool of the iciest cold water you will ever dive into and then head back to the highway and further west you meet the Columbia Parkway, go left(south) for the Icefields or right(north) to head for Jasper and Maligne Lake, beautiful area. Or take in the dinosaur museum in Drumheller and the voodoos.

  4. The Drumheller Valley, the Crowsnest Pass (home of the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre), take the steam train from Stettler to Big Valley, lots to see and do in Calgary, Waterton National Park, Kananaskis, Cypress Hills, Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, Writing-On-The-Stone Park, visit the Oil Sands in Fort McMurray, and there's much more depending on the part of the province you'll be in.

  5. i really enjoy going to sylvan lake, if your looking for a fun and relaxing day this is the place to go.,.....waterslides, and tons of water sports activities...

banff is beautiful, edmonton is ok, Calgary is a nice city (its alot better than edmonton....TRUST ME, save yourself the trouble and visit Calgary over edmonton), the one thing that you will like about this city is the friedly people, nice to visit in fall or summer...lots of parks, evening entertainment, shops, clubs and bars, tons of good restraunts on the main streets...Mcleod trail has alot of good restraunts, chinook center (good shopping center)

visit the red mile (17th avenue when your there, stephen avenue, oclaire market,  Calgary tower (go have dinner there), theater Calgary, glenbow museum, and heritage park (its really nice)......Oh have tubby dogs on 17th avenue (it was on Much music places to eat in Canada)..very interesting place.......Yuk Yuks comedy cave...
