What are the plastic round things in my socket set called and what are they supposed to be used for?

  1. They are called spinners. They are there so you can turn the socket without having to use the handle. Useful for starting bolts or tightening buy hand in tight places until you need the torque of the wrench


  2. If they have square holes in the middle    they fit on the ratchet above the socket. they are used as thumb wheels so you can turn the socket without moving the ratchet until the free turning space is used up then tighten with the handle.

  3. if they are round with square hole they would be to put between the socket and rachet so you can turn by hand easier, but throw them away you will never use them and they will be lost soon anyways

  4. Plastic round things in a socket set? What brand, how many pieces and where did you buy it ? Sound like packaging material to me.
