What are the pluses and minuses of texas couple getting married in Vagas?Honest Answers please?

Pros: Fun, if you like that sort of thing, and it can double as a honeymoon.

Cons: All your family and friends are unlikely to be able to get there, plus the whole Vegas thing is a bit tacky and cliched.

Are you planning to elope just the 2 of you? Or are you thinking of having a destination wedding where all your family meets there?

  Of course the pluses would be less cost than a traditional wedding (unless you went to the local courthouse).  You could have a ceremony in a variety of unique ways (getting married by "Elvis", drive thru wedding...ect) that most likely is not something you will find in Texas.  And if it is a family destination wedding, there would be lots for you and your guests to see and do.

The cons:  Well as with anytime you elope (just the 2 of you) you risk hurting other family members feelings, by those that wish they could have "been there" for your wedding.  If destination wedding for the family, your family would have additional travel expenses that they would not have had to incur had the ceremony been locally.
