What are the possibilities for the average player to attain 147 points in snooker ?

If you mean a recreational player, I would say the odds are about 1 in a million or less. Unless someone is extremely talented and practices a lot they will never run a 147. Unlike a break and run in 8-ball or 9-ball, a 147 cannot be accomplished with a bit of luck and  so-so shot making.

no chance what so ever....this isnt golf where practically any1 can pick up a club and smash a hole in 1!  Theres no chance u could do this unless u could consistantly make centuries (in other words if u was an extremely gd player).

The possibilities are great... if you total up about ten games worth.

Let me put it another way... we have a saying where I'm from... "The odds of winning the lottery are the same...  whether you play or not."

And here's an example of what I'm talking about: The very first time I rolled a bowling ball down the lane I hit for a strike. Knocked all ten pins down. I'm 13-years old.

Now, I'm thinking... ain't nothin' to this game. I think I'll go on the road.

My final score was - 87. It was the only strike I rolled. Get it?

Very, very slim. It's rare even for the top players to score a 147 in competetive matches.
