I don't think will be any major differences betweens problems for aussie students and international students in regards to shared accomodation..

Aside from the obvious, such as language barriers or familiarity with the area.. the issues are the same.

Universities in Australia have lots of help services for international students. My university has a special international student centre, as well as orientation programs, study help, and more!
