What are the properties of wood?Include as much info as possible Please include any websites used. (its for an assignment)

well that's a pretty broad question, i mean, they all have the same basic structure of bundles of longs cells running along it's length, but there is a massive range of types of wood, and as many different properties, there are woods that are so dense that they do not even float, and some that are so soft you can mark them with your finger nail, some woods burn like they are covered in petrol , and others you would struggle to ignite. There are woods that have the compressive strength of concrete, but snap with next to no sheer force, and others that will bend close to right angles...
