  1. PROS: its amazing. the falls are right there and pretty. so much to do. very fun. the falls illuminate and fireworks in certain seasons.

CONS: might be a little touristy.

    overall you should move there!!!!

  2. I'm from Niagara Falls, lived here for all of my 49 years

i agree with everything said here thus far, except for the street systems?? most of the main streets go North/ South or East/West..i know there are a couple of name changes, like Lundy's lane changes to Ferry Street, Portage Rd becomes Main St. then chanes back to Portage Rd

great city to live in, you can actually here the roar of the Falls well within the city

  3. Pros:

    - Location and proximity to surrounding cities (St. Catharines, NOTL, Welland, Fort Erie), border city w/ easy access to NY state.

    - Scenery.... not just the Falls, but there are so many beautiful places in the Niagara Region for walking, hiking, biking, photography, etc.  Its a great place to explore!

    - Proximity to the falls.  I love going down there every once in a while (when I know its not going to be busy) and just checking them out.  Never ceases to be amazing.

    - Locals rates!  The hotels are actually really good for giving discounts for locals and seasonal specials.  I love taking advantage of the "Sleep Cheap for Charities" in the winter ($50 Fallsview rooms for locals!)

    Cons:

    - Traffic, until you get to know your way around it.  When I first moved to Niagara I would get sooo frustrated with the street system (you'll know what I'm talking about when you get here).  Avoid Lundy's Lane and Stanley Avenue as much as possible in peak season, it will save your sanity.

    - Some people would say the touristy stuff is a con, but it really doesn't bother me.  I work in the industry, so I have an appreciation for the tourists  :D  and besides, you can stay away from the Fallsview & Clifton Hill areas as much as you like.  The residential areas are generally very nice.

    - Downtown (the "old" downtown business district) is pretty run-down, but the city is "working on it".  So in terms of arts/culture, its a little shabby.  But St. Catharines is nice and close and they've got a great downtown!

    - The only mall in Niagara Falls (aside from the outlets) is Niagara Square, and up until recently it *really* sucked.  But they've done a lot of work and we've got some great stores there now, and more to come.

I love it here!  I'm sure you will, too.  Email me if you have any questions that I can help with!  I know of a great real estate agent, too  :D

  4. Pros:

    - The water is so nice!

    - It has Marine Land!!

    - Lots of good shows at the Fallsview Casino

    - It's close to NY state for shopping

    - I have lived here almost a year and have never seen a homeless person yet (lol)

    Cons:

    - Tourists, especially the Americans

    - The confusing streets

    - Marine Land closes in the winter lol
