  1. Can prevent someone from going without food or shelter.

    Too many get used to it and prefer it over working


  2. As the saying goes, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." Therefore, the only good state assistance is job training. I think the quote speaks to the cons.
