What are the pros and cons of a large sea kayak cockpit (45 inches in length)? Think rolling. Thanks!?

First, a sea kayak won't have a 45" long cockpit.  That's a recreational kayak, and those are made for calm water.

They do make spray skirts for recreational boats, but they are not "roll-proof" spray skirts.  They're merely helpful with occasional splashes and paddle drip runoff.   There would be no way to keep a spray skirt tight enough on a cockpit that big to enable a successful roll.
