What are the pros and cons of becoming a U.S. citizen?

I used to think that its so obvious --citizenship is way to go --- but does it actually benefit somebody more to NOT become a citizen (moral considerations aside)

  1. There is some info missing that is needed to answer your question, but I'll go on the assumption that you are discussing the difference between holding a green card or obtaining citizenship. You know, a lot of people will say that the only advantage is that you can vote. While this is one advantage, there are others. For example, if you are a citizen you never have to worry about deportation which can happen in theory to a GC holder if they even fail to file their income tax return. As a citizen you are also afforded the full benefits of the US Embassies and Consulates worldwide, provided that you entered that country on your US passport.
