  1. Hi, I moved to Ireland for 5 years from California.  I really loved it there, the people are very friendly and helpful.  The way of life seems more relaxed , even in Belfast one of the biggest cities it was pretty relaxed.  It was a little old fashioned in some ways but it was nice.  Of course there is supermarkets but there is still alot of specialty shops like butchers and bakeries and produce stores where alot of people do most of their shopping.  Most people go on vacation at least once a year for 2 weeks to some lovely place in summer, so it is much easier to travel and see Europe from Ireland than America.  The pubs are really fun and have great atmosphere, and it is fun to hear the tradition Irish music.  I think I could of happily lived there for ever but my husband (from Ireland) and I decided that when we had kids we would move back to California to be near my family and to raise them here.  So that is why we came back.  I just like California because it is home and the weather is better but my husband loves Ca for the golfing and the area that we live in and the people he has met and the price of food and gas is way cheaper here.
