  1. energy cannot be created nor destroyed. It is a law of physics. However the pro's of producing more energy are more convenient than having less.

  2. All energy comes from plants not animals. We still have some like peanut oil or olive oil and many others . The fossil fuels are aged plant oil. So all sources of energy are renewable. The plants take in CO2 and return the O2 but keeps the C,for food for the plant. When the plants die their oil is washed down the rivers to the delta where Mother nature stores it for us.

  3. Pros:

    - Low cost

    Cons:

    - Not sustainable

    - Produces carbon dioxide. (CO2), which is an important greenhouse gas.

    - The methods of mining coal can be very destructive.

    - Very large quantities of coal ash have to be disposed of and a lot of smoke is produced.

    - Some coal contains significant amounts of sulfur. After burning, this changes to sulfur dioxide and eventually sulfuric acid, if it is not removed at some stage. Burned sulfur is one of the main causes of acid rain.

    - The world's natural gas reserves are limited.

    - The world's oil reserves are limited.

    - Oil spills, especially at sea, cause severe pollution.

    - Some oils contain high levels of sulfur.
