What are the pros and cons of pre-K for a 4 - year old ?

If a child has never been in daycare but still is a very friendly

outgoing child would she benefit from going to pre - K or would

she be okay without it.

  1. I would definately send her. My son went as a 3 year old and then to the same preschool to the 4 year old class. You can point out the kids that did not attend as 3 year olds. They need to get used to the structured enviroment for Kindergarten, its not just about socialization. It is amazing what the school systems expect the kids to know when they start Kindergarten. They really do learn a lot too.


  2. I would most definitely recommend preschool. Your child will greatly benefit from:

    -structure

    -socialization

    -routines

    -language stimulation

    -pre-academic teaching

    :)

    These are skills that will carry over when she gets to kindergarten. She will not have a problem transitioning from pre-k to kinder.
