What are the pros and cons of the canon EOS digital Rebel txi?

You mean the Canon Rebel XTi... not txi.

Honestly, I can't tell you any cons of the XTi. I've had mine for a couple years now and I haven't had any issues with it.

Great camera for someone who is new to DSLR... if you are willing to take the time to learn how to use it then it can be a great investment.

Pros:

- It's an SLR so you get all the benefits of it being one (change lenses, larger sensor, full control, etc.)

- It's cheap as far as SLRs go.

- It's small and lightweight (at least for an SLR)

Cons:

- It's built out of plastic and feels somewhat like a toy.

- It lacks some of the features of more expensive SLRs.
