Rays

Pros- Rays have great pitching and great chemistry.

Cons- Rays also have a lot of young and inexperienced players, and bats do not have enough timely hitting. Oh, and they also have Jonny Gomes.

  1. Cardinals

Pros - Several good players (Pujols, Carpenter, Ludwick, Glaus, Ankiel) and good starting pitching

Cons - Bullpen is very inconsistent. Need to trade some young outfielders of ours for relievers.

  2. Sponge,

That is awesome loyalty!!!  I tip my hat to you.

Now I'm an almost old dude, as I just reached 40 years of age in June...I've been a Die-Hard Texas Rangers fan...or as I refer to them as the AL's version of the Cubs.

In time, I have faith that my Texas Rangers will grow up to be a real MLB team...actually this year, they are giving me reason to believe and hope!!!

For years the Rangers have had good to great hitting and this year is perhaps one of the best hitting years for the organization.  However they have consistantly struggled with Pitching.

What I like about this team is the mix of youth and young veterans.  I don't see too many on this team that are near retirement age.

This coupled with the development of the Minor League system, the Rangers finally appear ready to make an impact on the rest of MLB.  They have some young arms coming up, the most visible is Naftal Feliz, whom the Rangers acquired from the Braves in the Tex trade last year.  Feliz is a 20 year old fastball pitcher who has been clocked at 100 MPH.  He has a 4 to 1 Strikeout to walk ratio.  However he is working on refining one or two more pitches before he is ready to test his stuff against MLB talent.  I think he is the Ace of the future for Texas.

In addition they are stacked with great hitting position players and I can envision the Rangers making a few off-season deals to add to the Pitching talent that has been put together in the minors.

I appreciate your Rays and I have sympathy for what the organization went through dealing with the Dark days of Josh Hamilton, but I am thrilled to see him turn his life around and he appears to have taken his positive personality and changed the mindset of the entire Ranger organization, to include us fans!!!

Who knows,  maybe Josh and the Rangers can keep things going steady and sneak in with a WC...only to face the Rays in Round 1?

  3. Yankees

Pros - Great lineup, a lot of young talent

Cons - Injuries!  Need help with bullpen

  4. atlanta braves

cons- injuries injuries and more injuries...our ace was projected to be the 5th starter on opening day which is jair jurjenns..our best players are hurt and that leads to alot of inconsistencies.

no clutch hitting way to many Left on base....our clean up as of today is greg norton!!!!!!!!! bullpen is very shaky besides mike gonzalez

pros- we have the best hitting catcher in the bigs and hes only 24

are in rebuilding mode and have alot of great talent in the minors. so be ready in 2009 0r 2010 for the braves

  5. Yankees

Pros: experience, tendency to have stronger a stronger 2nd half, addition of Pudge to fill in hole at catcher, a mix of young and older players, rich history to drive desire to win, last year of Yankee Stadium to drive desire to win, lots of heart and soul

Cons: pitching problems (bullpen has performed well for a while now, but I'm still a little queasy about it; starting rotation is more concerning with Ponson and Rasner still in the rotation, while Joba is the only real guarantee, although I expect Pettitte and Moose to perform decently at the least when they go out)

  6. Texas Rangers

    Pros-

Our offense is great. Hamilton, Young, Kinsler

Our manager is great. Ron Washington is doing a great job.

    Cons-

Pitching. I have nothing to add. The entire staff needs help.

    Upper management.

  7. Yankees

PROs: Great history, storied ballplayers, close to home, consistently in the playoffs, good 2nd half team

CONs: big payroll now makes people believe they bought world series titles over a decade ago, inconsistent pitching and unable to hit lefties, too many bandwagon jumpers

  8. Brewers

pros young team great hitting and my next door neighbor is the hitting coach 4 them

cons need better pitching and they need 2 b more consistent

  9. Mets

Pros-big payroll, willing to win know

Cons- Too old, no top prospects, sign players that are way past there prime, not enough depth

  10. Hahaha. I'm a Pirates fan, so I guess there are really no pros. Just minor league prospects.

But, if they can hold onto Jason Bay for a few more years, get Andrew McCutcheon up there with him, along with Nate McLough, and there is a serious outfield. If Sanchez and Wilson ever play like pros again, and we get some pitching, in the central, it's easy to make the playoffs. But, right now, we couldn't beat the Nashville Sounds.

  11. Cubs

Pros - They have an excellent offense (probably the best in the NL) that's capable of scoring tons of runs.  We also have a very solid starting pitching staff and a pretty deep bench.

Cons - We have some guys on the team that are injury prone, which when making a run at the playoffs can come back to bite you in the butt.  Also sometimes our bullpen is lights out and other times it's like they're taking the mound for the first time.  Oh and then there's the thing every non Cubs fan uses against us and that's the Cubs history.

  12. Pros - that they are 2000 miles away

Cons - they lose all the time and make stupid trades.

  13. Phillies

Cons - Lackluster Starting Pitching besides Hamels. Myers/Kendrick/Moyer/Eaton/Blanton all have the ability to throw a complete game or a 10R 1st inning. The hitting is streakish. Third base...Right Field. Feliz and Jenkins...come on.

Pros - One of the most powerful offenses in the game. Best Closer in the NL and amazing bullpen (add Durbin and Romero to Lidge). Speedy 1-2 Rollins and Victorino. Utley! Burrell is having a great season.

  14. White Sox

Pros- Can be a very explosive line-up and has some young talent in the rotation. Experience.

    Cons- Unconsistent hitting and pitching.

I like your Rays pros and cons I think they are right on. I personally see the Rays winning their division =]

  15. Red Sox

Our bats come alive all the time, but then we leave men on base, so that's 1 pro and 1 con right there. Same with our pitchers, they pitch well then blow up in the middle of the game. Our bullpen has it's ups and downs, and Papelbon is the only guy I can count on, and he isn't even THAT stable.  We have great team chemistry, but right now Manny is starting to bring us down. We have a perfect mix of experienced veterans and young talent, so we have a lot of depth.  Earlier this season 5 of our 9 starters were out with minor injuries, and we still won the game!

PS. How long have you actually been a Rays fan for? I'm just wondering. Can you actually name last years starting 9? Or are you a new fan this year?

Ok that's cool then. It's good you've been a fan for so long. I know a lot of people who say they're die hard fans but then can't name anyone who played 3 years ago lol. there's red sox fans like that too and all they do is take my d**n seats at fenway. i hate 'em

  16. PROS: WE WIN SOME GAMES

CONS: WE GIVE BACK THE GROUND GAINED FROM OUR WINS

  17. Texas Rangers

    Pros-

    Great batting: Hamilton, Kinsler, Young

    Cons-

Starting Pitching and Bullpen (very inconsistent)
