Its also an issue of costs. I have an astigmatisim and right now have -4.75 in both eyes. SO I assume this will cost me a pretty penny. Was it worth it?

  1. Pros- It's getting cheaper.

Cons- Having a concentrated radiation stream shot into your retina repeatedly.

  2. it ill give you perfect 20/20 vision

but it will make your eyes more sensitive to light, and your eyes will be dry and slightly irritabel, but these are only possibilities, and only may happen

  3. a) if it works it improves your eyesight

bi)if it doesn't it can f*ck them up

    bii)..but then you can sue

  4. pros- if u go to a good one you shall see much better

cons- if you go to a bad one you shall have holes where your eyes used to be

  5. I have 3 friends who have had it and they have loved the results..no cons. Now I'm reading about a lot of pain associated afterwards, but they've had none. If I could afford it, I'd do it.

  6. Ask that to your doctor because people from yahoo are barley ever correct

  7. There are no guarantees with laser vision correction.  It is well documented as being safe and effective.  This does not mean you will never need glasses again.  Your eyes are a living tissue, they will change trough out your life just like your bones, teeth, and skin changes.  There are risks associated with the surgery.  There should be no increased light sensitivity after surgery, however everyone should wear sunglasses to protect from UV.  Dry eye is an ongoing debate and has a definite association with Lasik.  I am glad the high risk patient above did well, but if I were told that I were not a perfect candidate I would not have this surgery.  Do not be a bargain hunter,  ask your optometrist or family M.D. for a referral to a reputable surgeon.  Make sure you are not a high risk patient and then decide if this is right for you.  If you have surgery,  complete all of your follow up visits and have yearly eye exams.

  8. Pro-great vision

    Pro- no more buying glasses

Pro- wear sun glasses and be able to see

Pro- wake up and see clearly

Pro- I am so happy I did it

Con- I can't find one since I've had the surgery

  9. I had the surgery done just about 2 years ago and I love it for the most part. I went from being a high risk (ie my corenas were too steep to guarantee a perfect result) but ended up with 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other which is amazing because even with lens they could only ever get me to 23/30 20/40. There are some side effects like always haveing dry/tired eyes after. They cut the nerve that tells you when your eyes are dry and signals your brain to make tears. So you have to compentsate with drops. For about 3 months after the surgery at night I had 'halos' around any form of light and still 2 years later my eyes are sensitive to light I have like 100 pairs of sunglasses lol. Also you still have the same if not slightly increased risk of eye fatigue. I find that my eyes get blurry if I've been looking at the computer too long or if I'm exhausted, but again artificial tears become your best friend.... that and waterproof mascara.

Good luck! You won't regret it. The pros definatly outweigh the cons. I can deal with drops if I never have to fumble in the dark at 5:30am to put contacts in so I can see to wake up!!!

  10. Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
