I don't really know the prospects or job situation in Australia, but from my understanding it is a booming place for OT.  In the US, OT will do nothing but increase in need as the baby boomer generation becomes older.  I currently work with children, but get job offers daily from hospitals, long term care centers and rehab units looking for OT's.  That is the best thing about OT, that it is so flexible.  You can find jobs in pediatrics, in schools, in hospitals, rehab units,  ergonomics.  The list is endless!
